Do you find your self frustrated and yelling at your child, but unsure why your reaction is so large? Are you feeling lost in this whole parenting thing? Are you seeing the patterns of your childhood slip into your parenting style, even though you promised yourself you would be different than your parents were? Parenting can give you joy like you have never known, but it can also push you as a parent through the hardest struggles. The frustration, uncertainty, fears, and sadness are parts of the journey through parenthood that are rarely spoken of. It is through these time when parents need the support and guidance of others. Unfortunately, todays society support comparing and judging other parents more than supporting a guiding. This is when therapy can step in and offer parents a different experience. I offer parents a place to find the non judgement support and guidance that we as parents will at some point need in our parenting experience.
Is the stress of having to be the perfect kid stating to be too much? Are you finding it hard to keep juggling all of the responsibilities that come with being teen in this area? Sometimes we all need someone to just listen to us and offer support. That is what I offer when you come in to see me. I strive to create a place where you will feel safe, and talk, and work towards relieving yourself from some of the stress or finding ways to make it easier to handle.
Are you at your wits end with your child? Are you feeling you tried everything you can think of and nothing seems to be working? Is your child struggling with acting out at home or school, fears, sadness, or frustration? Childhood is filled with exciting milestones as well as difficult transitions. During these difficult transitions, that all children face at some point, it is helpful to provide your child with a safe place where they can work though these struggles. I offer this safe place for children to open up, process, and work through the struggles in their lives.
Does it feel like you family is always fight? Are you wondering what happened to your family and how did we get here? Have your tried everything you can think of and nothing seems to be helping? At some point all families go through rough times. Times when no one seems to connect and every one seem to be at odds with one another. It is during these rough times therapy can be helpful. I provide a safe place where all members can feel heard and can contribute to find a way to reconnect as a family again.
Since having children have you and your partner drifted further and further apart? Do you find that every conversation is either about the children or an argument? Do you and your partner have two completely different ways of wanting to raise your child or children? When we first meet and fall in love we don't even think to ask our partner about how they plan on raising their future children. At the time the question might seem irrelevant or premature. It is not until you have children and are struggling with two different parenting style do you see the importance of knowing the answers to those questions. Becoming a parent is one of the greatest gifts parents can experience together, but it can also create a struggle and divide in your relationship unlike anything you experienced within your relationship before children. If you find yourself struggling to connect with your partner because of the parenting issue therapy can offer you and your partner a place to come and find ways to reconnect and work together as parents.
